This is a Part Time/Full Time Evening Shift Position.
Weekend availability is required.
Approximately 25-40 hours per week.
Our Meat & Deli Team is responsible for ensuring GROW's values are effectively carried out in the meat department and deli, making GROW the kind of place our customers want to shop again and again.
Aid and participate in food preparation for:
1) GROW Meat Counter- Proper rotation, display and packaging of all fresh and prepared meat, vegetables and proteins sold at our meat counter.
2) GROW Service Deli, Grab & Go, Prepared Food, Prepared Santwiches, and Catering Program.
-Follow recipes and protocols to ensure quality and consistency of product.
-Ensure health and sanitation guidelines are being met by all other Meat & Deli Team Members.
-Ensure meat department, deli, and kitchen is kept clean, tidy, stocked and is operating in accordance to all health and sanitation guidelines.
-Assist in creation of daily/weekly specials.
-Place orders for all food and packaging needs in the Meat & Deli Department.
-Foster good vendor relationships and delivery best-practices.
-Prep and assemble catering orders as needed.
-Lead by example and train new Team Members according to the GROW standards.
-Basic knowledge of kitchen safety protocols.
-Basic, if not exceptional, knowledge of meat, poultry, pork and seafood language, sourcing, etc.
-1 Year cooking, deli or meat department experience in a professional/commercial kitchen or retail store (restaurant, catering, commissary).
-Outstanding customer service, communication skills, problem solving skills, and friendly attitude.
-Competent, if not exceptional, knife skills.
-Current Food Safety Certificate on file. (Managers Cert. Preferred)
-Strong, considerate and constructive communicator.
